Spreading warmth at the Colorado Springs Festival of Lights Parade

There’s something special about the holiday season in Colorado Springs: the lights, the energy, the sense of community that shows up even when temperatures drop low. This year, we were thrilled to be part of that magic at the Colorado Springs Festival of Lights Parade, where we got to do one of our favorite things: show up for the community in a meaningful (and warm!) way.

Mel and I traveled from California to Colorado Springs to join the festivities, and we came prepared with one simple goal: help people stay warm and spread a little holiday cheer. Thanks to our partnership with Kaleo Coffee, we handed out over 400 free cups of hot cocoa to parade attendees as they lined the streets waiting for the lights, floats, and holiday fun to begin.

Warming hands (and hearts)

Let’s be honest: it was cold. Families bundled up in blankets, kids stomped their feet to stay warm, and gloves were absolutely required. But the moment someone wrapped their hands around a cup of hot cocoa, you could see the instant relief, and the smiles.

Parents stopped by with kids in tow, couples paused mid-parade watching, and neighbors chatted while warming up with a drink. It was the perfect excuse to slow down, connect, and enjoy the moment together. These are the kinds of small interactions that make events like this so special.

A Community-First Partnership

Partnering with Kaleo Coffee (@kaleocoffeetruck) made the experience even better. Their hot cocoa was a huge hit, rich, comforting, and exactly what everyone needed on a chilly holiday night. Supporting a local coffee partner while serving the local community felt like a win all around, and we’re incredibly grateful to Kaleo Coffee for helping us bring this idea to life.

It's about connection

While we were there handing out cocoa, we also had the chance to talk with attendees about Ting, who we are, what we do, and why we care so much about the communities we serve. People asked questions, shared stories, and told us what they love about living in Colorado Springs.

That’s exactly how we like it.

At Ting, we believe being a good internet provider means more than fast speeds and reliable service. It means showing up, supporting local events, and creating moments that bring people together, especially during the holidays.

A night to remember

By the end of the night, we had handed out every last cup of cocoa, shared countless laughs, and gone home with frozen toes but full hearts. The Festival of Lights Parade reminded us why community events matter and why we’re so proud to be part of Colorado Springs.

To everyone who stopped by to warm up with us, thank you. And to Kaleo Coffee, thank you for helping us turn a cold night into a cozy, memorable one.
