When you switch Internet providers, one question rarely gets a straight answer: what happens to the equipment you already have? Do you keep your own router, rent theirs, or start over?

With Ting, you decide. Here's how it works.

## **You're never forced to rent equipment**

Plenty of providers add an equipment charge to your bill automatically, for a box you'll never own. Ting doesn't force equipment on anyone. You pick the setup that fits how you like to run your home.

## **Bring your own router**

If you already own a router, bring it. Ting supports a bring-your-own-router setup, so the network you've already tuned keeps running, with no equipment fee on your bill and no new app to learn. Keep what works.

## **Or add Whole Home Wi-Fi**

If you'd rather not manage hardware, Ting offers Whole Home Wi-Fi, a managed mesh system built on eero. Ting handles setup, updates, and support, and it's designed to cover the whole house, not just the room the router sits in. Optional, never required.

## **How to avoid ISP equipment rental fees**

The trick is simple: use a provider that doesn't require its own hardware, and bring a router you already own. Most ISPs build the rental in so you don't question it. Ting makes it a choice, so if you'd rather not pay for equipment, you don't have to.

## **What Ting brings to your home**

Ting is 100% direct fiber to your home, real fiber the whole way, with symmetrical speeds, the same fast upload and download. The fiber runs to your home and connects to your Wi-Fi, your own router or Ting's Whole Home Wi-Fi. No bundle you didn't ask for, no equipment lock-in.

## **Why this matters in September**

This is upgrade season. New phones, new laptops, new smart-home gear. The last thing you need is an Internet provider that makes you toss equipment that works fine, or charges you to rent a box you didn't want. Good Internet fits the way you already run your home.

## **Check your address**

If you're upgrading this fall, keep the gear you like, or let Ting handle coverage for you. See if Ting fiber is available at your address at ting.com.
