Ting fiber-fed Park and Wi-Fi hotspots in Ting Internet towns
Ting Park and Wi-Fi has been activated in the following communities and locations and will remain in operation as long as they’re needed.
The Internet is essential infrastructure and access to it is an essential service. If it wasn’t already, the COVID-19 pandemic that we're all weathering has made that abundantly clear.
As mentioned in our Ting Internet COVID-19 update and in the broader Tucows COVID-19 statement, the health and safety of our team, our customers and the community at large are our top priority. Responsible Internet service providers are protecting their people and their customers by limiting contact and honoring social distancing by curtailing new installation activity. These measures have to be balanced with the fact that people’s need to be connected to the Internet and all it entails is greater than ever. The first question becomes what can we do to help support our communities at this time?
One of the quickest ways we can provide assistance to residents of Ting cities and towns is to provide free, fiber-fed, drive-up Wi-Fi hotspots. These enable those with no home Internet access, or insufficient access, to access critical services like online learning and telehealth services, it allows people to work remotely, check in on and access vital health, government and other services and generally, to access information.
Ting Park and Wi-Fi has been activated in the following communities and locations and will remain in operation as long as they’re needed and as long as it’s safe and prudent to do so.
