Google’s AI got it wrong: Ting is still here in Holly Springs

Google’s AI spread the wrong story. Ting is still in Holly Springs, still local, and still placing transparency and community ahead of Big Tech’s monopoly tactics.

If you searched for “Ting Internet coming to Holly Springs” recently, you may have seen something concerning. Google’s new AI tool may have said Ting Internet isn’t here anymore. It may have even claimed Google Fiber bought our network and is the “primary provider” in town.

That’s simply not true.

Ting has been serving Holly Springs for 10 years. We built the fiber network here, and we’re still proud to power thousands of homes with fast, reliable Internet every day. We didn’t sell our network. We didn’t leave. We’re not going anywhere.

So why is Google saying otherwise?

When Big Tech writes the answers

Google is one of the biggest companies in the world. Most people know it as the place you “Google” something. But behind the scenes, Google is also using its power to promote its own services.

Right now, Google is pushing its fiber service into Holly Springs. At the same time, its AI overview is telling some people that Ting doesn’t exist here. That’s the kind of anti-competitive behavior that creates confusion to benefit Google, not customers.

Now, with its AI-generated search results, it’s even easier for Google to crowd out the competition.

Ting Internet stands up for Holly Springs and fair competition

This misinformation is frustrating. You deserve to know the truth about the services available in your town. And you deserve a choice.

Here’s the reality:

  • Ting is still here. We’ve been serving Holly Springs since 2015, and we’re committed for the long run.
  • We put the community first. We’ve been part of Holly Springs for a decade–not just selling Internet service, but showing up at local events, hiring local staff, and investing in the community.
  • We respect our customers. From our very first day in Holly Springs to today, we have always guaranteed our customers no contracts, no start-up fees, no confusing bundles. Just fast Internet, clear pricing, and real human support.
  • We honor your privacy. Ting doesn’t sell your data to third parties. We believe what you do on the Internet should stay between you and your Internet.

Meanwhile, contractors working for Google Fiber have already cut our lines during construction. Google’s AI Overviews are spreading false information that makes it sound like Google is the only fiber Internet option in town. You might have even heard that Ting is going out of business.

That’s not fair competition.

Your choice matters

You don’t have to accept what Google’s AI says at face value. Ask questions. Double-check. And most importantly–remember that your choice matters.

By choosing Ting Internet, you’re choosing an Internet provider that’s open, honest, and fair. You’re choosing a company that’s been here for the past 10 years, and that will be here for the next 10.

Holly Springs is special to us. It was the first town where we ever built a fiber network, and we've hired locally and invested millions in the local economy. And we’re here to stay.

P.S. Looks like Google’s AI has already changed its answer again. Who knows what it will say next week 👀
